Bruce Jackson, the founder and President of the Project on Transitional Democracies from the USA, held the lecture on the topic "Serbia and Montenegro and NATO: perspectives of the SCG's joining to the NATO at 2008" in the Centre for Civil-Military Relations, on March 13, 2006. The lecture was organized by the Balkan Trust for Democracy, in cooperation with the Centre for Civil-Military Relations, in order to present the relation between SCG and Alliance, as well the main conditions for the faster integration into NATO. On that occasion, the most discussed topics were focused on Euro Atlantic relations, the evolution of the NATO's role and structure in contemporary conditions, as well as the relations between our country and the USA and EU.

During his lecture, Bruce Jackson pointed out the benefits that SCG could get through better cooperation with the ICTY, particularly after the extradition of the Hague's indictees. He stressed that the better cooperation with the Hague could facilitate increased inflow of investment, and through that, the improvement of the economics and standards. The representatives of the Balkan Trust for Democracy, SCG Atlantic Council, Institute G17, Faculty of Political Sciences and media participated in the event, together with the members of the Centre and the Belgrade School of Security Studies, research unit within the Centre. Proposals for improving the future cooperation were given at the end of the visiting.
