      Invitation to panel discussion

The Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, the Centre for Civil-Military Relations and the Forum for Security and Democracy are pleased to invite all those interested to participate in the panel discussion "Serbia on the Path Towards a Positive (White) Schengen List - the Role of the Ministry of Interior". The panel discussion will be held on July 6, 2009, from 10 a.m, room 3 at the Faculty of Political Sciences, 165 Jove Ilića St.

Main attention of three civil society organizations is to explain the role of the Ministry of Interior in visa liberalisation process. Particularly important research questions will be: How to overcome obstacles in the process of fulfilment of conditions from the Road Map? What are the challenges Ministry of Interior will face in the future? What could Ministry of Interior of Serbia and Ministry of Interior of Montenegro learn from Macedonia’s experience?

The panel discussion is part of the project „Fostering Civil Society Involvement in Police Reform”, supported by OSCE Mission to Serbia, Embassies of the Netherlands, Norway and Hungary to Serbia, as well as the Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces.
