    • "The Return of History and the End of Dreams" is out of print!

    •
    • Date: 01 September 2009

The Centre for Civil-Military Relations is proud to announce how the newest addition to its Belgrade Library of Security Studies, a publishing series co-led with Alexandria Press, is Robert Kagan's "The Return of History and the End of Dreams".

This analysis of contemporary international affairs, written by one of leading neo-conservative scholars has been translated to Serbian language for the first time. Kagan fiercely opposes his contemporaries who argued for the "end of history". Instead, he reminds the readers how the "stubborn traditions" are on the rise again in many nation states. He continues by drawing the attention to the resurgence of USA's increasingly powerful rivals, autocracy (in Russia and China) and Islamist radicalism (in the Middle East).

Kagan therefore sees the modern world as a place where power politics and war can not be excluded for good and offers a less optimistic perspective of international affairs.

The "Return of History" is, part from selected bookstores, available for purchase in Centre for Civil-Military Relations, Gundulicev venac 48, Belgrade.
