    •
    • Date: 01 July 2010
Jelena Radoman, Research Fellow and Advocacy Coordinator at the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy, has joined Hellenic Centre for European Studies (EKEM) research team as a Visiting Fellow in May - September 2010 period. During that period she will be member of EKEM Research Team working on EKEM-CSIS Joint Project "U.S.-GREECE TASK FORCE TRANSFORMING THE BALKANS: Security, Political Stability and Economic Development" http://www.ekemprogram.org/csis/. The project is aimed to establish a policy group which will produce policy proposals addressing US and Greek approach to the Western Balkans regarding political developments in the region, trade and transport and security integrations. The fellowship is financially supported by the European Fund for the Balkans and Open Society Institute within its joint Research Fellowship programme.

The Hellenic Centre for European Studies (ΕΚΕΜ) (http://www.ekem.gr/) is Athens based think-tank which was founded in 1988. EKEM is an entity established under private law, supervised by the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Centre focuses on conducting scientific research on a series of European issues providing Greek decision-makers with analysis and policy proposals. It serves both as an advisory body to the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a think-tank, in an effort to generate innovative ideas for a coherent European policy in Athens. EKEM has developed two regional programmes, one addressing South Eastern Europe and the other Mediterranean.

Besides engagement of Ms. Radoman in EKEM’s ongoing project the fellowship will also benefit future cooperation between the BCSP and EKEM.
