Her\u00a0fields of\u00a0expertise\u00a0are\u00a0human rights, democracy, peacebuilding and conflict resolution, and gender. Her\u00a0current research focuses on the EU\u2019s role in\u00a0addressing forgotten conflicts, examining how the EU exerts influence and\u00a0perceptions\u00a0in non-EU countries.\u00a0Previously, Marta was\u00a0Senior Director of Programs at the Center for Civilians in Conflict\u00a0(2022\u00a0\u2013\u00a02024), overseeing operations and teams in several conflict countries, as well as advocacy and research.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to\u00a0CIVIC, Marta spent more than ten years with the\u00a0Open Society Foundations as\u00a0head of the EU external relations team, acting Deputy Director, and senior Africa policy officer.\u00a0As\u00a0OSF Special Advisor on security governance, she\u00a0contributed to deepening the Foundation\u2019s\u00a0programmatic\u00a0<wbr \/>engagement\u00a0in\u00a0Europe,\u00a0Africa\u00a0<wbr \/>and South-East Asia.\u00a0She also\u00a0worked in Kinshasa for the EU\u00a0mission for Security Sector Reform in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and\u00a0from 2005 to 2009, was a member of the Task Force on Peacebuilding of\u00a0the Belgian Directorate General for Development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":36308,"template":"","coauthors":[164,10677],"class_list":["post-36309","istrazivac","type-istrazivac","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/istrazivac\/36309","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/istrazivac"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/istrazivac"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/36308"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=36309"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"author","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/coauthors?post=36309"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
