{"id":17635,"date":"2012-09-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-09-24T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/najava\/the-citizens-of-serbia-between-eu-russia-and-nato-public-opinion-polls-pesentation\/"},"modified":"2012-09-25T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2012-09-24T22:00:00","slug":"the-citizens-of-serbia-between-eu-russia-and-nato-public-opinion-polls-pesentation","status":"publish","type":"najava","link":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/event\/the-citizens-of-serbia-between-eu-russia-and-nato-public-opinion-polls-pesentation\/","title":{"rendered":"The Citizens of Serbia Between EU, Russia and NATO \u2013 Public Opinion Polls Pesentation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<strong>What citizens of Serbia think about joining the EU, what about joining NATO, and how they look at the strengthening of military cooperation with Russia &#8211; these are<\/strong><strong>\u00a0information<\/strong><strong>\u00a0that will be presented and discussed<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>about a<\/strong><strong>t the<\/strong><strong>\u00a0media\u00a0<\/strong><strong>conference.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\tCitizens have also asserted which states they perceive as the greatest friends of Serbia, and which as the greatest enemies; they have evaluated the performance of the previous government in the areas of police, army and security services, and they have declared their expectations of the new government in the reforms of these institutions.<\/p>\n<p>\tData was collected by survey of attitudes of 1200 respondents. The aim of the research was to determine trends in the attitudes of citizens towards the security sector, security integrations, as well as their perception of their own security and the importance of national identity in the perception of security.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe project is a continuation and deepening of the last opinion poll, which was published in specialized academic journal.<\/p>\n<p>\tBy the end of the year, there will also be presented the results of data collected through interviews with focus groups &#8211; eight focus groups in six cities, and by in-depth interviews with up to 30 interviewees in six cities.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe primary objective of the second part of the project is to determine the potential for violence in the Serbian society, the degree of popular support for the activities of extremist groups, and the willingness of citizens to be directly involved in political violence.
