{"id":17641,"date":"2013-02-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-02-03T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/najava\/training-for-journalists-gender-equality-in-security-sector\/"},"modified":"2013-02-04T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2013-02-03T23:00:00","slug":"training-for-journalists-gender-equality-in-security-sector","status":"publish","type":"najava","link":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/event\/training-for-journalists-gender-equality-in-security-sector\/","title":{"rendered":"Training for journalists &#8211; gender equality in security sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<strong>Belgrade centre for security policy (BCSP) is organising training for journalists about specifics of research of the security sector, with focus on challenges faced by women employed in the security institutions.The training will be held\u00a0 from February 28 to March 1.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\tThe representatives of the print and electronic media with local, national and regional coverage interested in participating in the training, can send their applications until February 25 to mail address\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:gorana.odanovic@bezbednost.org\">radomir.cvetkovic@bezbednost.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\tThe application should contain:<\/p>\n<p>\ta)\u00a0short biography;<\/p>\n<p>\tb)\u00a0security and\/or gender equality\u00a0topics previously covered;<\/p>\n<p>\tc)\u00a0telephone number.<\/p>\n<p>\t<strong>What will training participants gain?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\tThrough training journalists will:<\/p>\n<p>\t&#8211; Participate in lectures;<\/p>\n<p>\t&#8211; Go on a study visit to the security institutions;<\/p>\n<p>\t&#8211; Talk directly with women employed in the security sector;<\/p>\n<p>\t&#8211; Learn additional skills in media coverage;<\/p>\n<p>\t&#8211; Create media report on gender equality in the security sector (the costs of production will be covered by the training organiser).<\/p>\n<p>\tBCSP especially encourage media representatives from the provinces to apply. The costs of travel and accommodation for participants who are not from Belgrade will be covered by the organiser.\u00a0Journalists with the experience in reporting on security sector or gender equality will have advantage.<\/p>\n<p>\tFor additional information you can contact BCSP associate for communications, Radomir Cvetkovic (contact number-011\/3287-226).<\/p>\n<p>\tThe enrollment of women in\u00a0 the performance of public affairs in the security sector is an indicator of the level of democratization of society and the state. It shows us who has the power in the security sector and is\u00a0 security\u00a0 available for all citizens,regardless of their gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation.
