{"id":17681,"date":"2015-09-22T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-09-21T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/najava\/the-fifth-belgrade-security-forum-announcement\/"},"modified":"2015-09-22T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2015-09-21T22:00:00","slug":"the-fifth-belgrade-security-forum-announcement","status":"publish","type":"najava","link":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/event\/the-fifth-belgrade-security-forum-announcement\/","title":{"rendered":"The Fifth Belgrade Security Forum Announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>\t<strong>Academic Event<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\t<strong>Following the best practices from the last four years, the academic part of the BSF will be organized for emerging young researchers and leaders on 30 September, under the title: &#8220;Does the EU Need a Foreign Policy?\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\tClose to 60 applications was received during the open call for proposal for the Academic Event of the Fifth Belgrade Security Forum. In the fierce competition 12 papers have been selected to be presented at this year\u2019s event. Criteria for selection focused on bringing out the most challenging, innovative and also policy oriented ideas. Selected papers will be presented at three panels of the Forum. The first panel will focus on rethinking EU&#39;s Foreign Policy, the second on relations between EU and the Post-Soviet Space and third panel will discuss relations between the EU and the Western Balkans Countries.<\/p>\n<h2>\t<strong>Main Event<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\t<strong>The conference will host panel debates on various topics related to global and European and regional security challenges, within the framework of the title of the conference &#8220;Can Europe Redefine Itself?&#8221;. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\tBSF 2015 coincides with an important milestone &#8211; 40 years since the signing of the Helsinki Final Act, as well as an important event for the region &#8211; Serbia holding the OSCE Chairmanship. Paying due attention to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, BSF 2015 will foray into the future &#8211; one of social inclusion and gender equality. Finally, during the event enlargement as the EU\u2019s single most successful policy will be reaffirmed, by critically reassessing it from several angles. Many issues that create anxiety such as the bleak economic prospects for the post-Cold War generations and the rise of ISIS will also be discussed.<\/p>\n<div class=\"anterfile\">\t<strong><em>The <a href=\"http:\/\/belgradeforum.org\/\">Belgrade Security Forum<\/a> is the biggest international security conference in Southeast Europe, each year bringing together several hundred top level policy and decision makers, NGO leaders, experts, academics and journalists.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Can Europe Redefine Itself?&#8221; is the title of the fifth Belgrade Security Forum (BSF) that will take place from September 30 &#8211; October 2 2015.
