These outcomes are the results of the public opinion poll \u201cWhat do citizens think about their safety and security in Serbia\u201d, conducted by the BCSP. Moreover, only 6 per cent of citizens believe that they are safe because the state institutions are doing their job in a proper way. The existing situation can be improved during the further process of implementation of community policing in Serbia.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tAfter completing the first phase of implementation of the community policing concept in 2005 through realization of the pilot projects on community policing in several municipalities in Serbia, and the second with the carrying out of the project named JUNO 5 in 2009, the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia defined new goal with its Development Strategy 2011-2016. That goal is producing a strategy and an action plan on the community policing development in Serbia. So, the third phase started with this new strategic goal.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe aim of this panel discussion is to stimulate public discussion and contribute to the concretisation of further steps of the community policing development in Serbia and to answer on five specific questions:<\/p>\n<p>\t1.\u00a0Why is it important to develop the concept of community policing?<br \/>\t2.\u00a0What are the next steps in the development of the concept of community policing in Serbia?<br \/>\t3.\u00a0Why is the concept of community policing important for tackling domestic violence?<br \/>\t4.\u00a0What is the role of local self-government in developing community policing?<br \/>\t5.\u00a0What is the progress in developing the concept of community policing in Montenegro?<\/p>\n<p>\tThe panellists are: Robert Pazos (the OSCE Mission to Serbia), Golub Ga\u010devi\u0107 (the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Interior), Danijela Spasi\u0107 (the Academy of Criminalistics and Police Studies), Novak Gaji\u0107 (the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities) i Sonja Stojanovi\u0107 (the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy).<\/p>\n<p>\tSimultaneously translation from Serbian to English will be available.
