{"id":17839,"date":"2015-04-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-04-19T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/najava\/call-for-papers-for-the-fifth-belgrade-security-forum\/"},"modified":"2015-04-20T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2015-04-19T22:00:00","slug":"call-for-papers-for-the-fifth-belgrade-security-forum","status":"publish","type":"najava","link":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/event\/call-for-papers-for-the-fifth-belgrade-security-forum\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Papers for the Fifth Belgrade Security Forum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\tWhen the Berlin Wall came down quarter of a century ago many hoped that Europe was stepping out of history and its eternal recurrence of wars only to enter a post-modern era of liberal peace.<\/p>\n<p>\tEU enlargement was seen as a vehicle that will spread this utopian vision to the East and fill out the geopolitical void left behind the implosion of the Soviet Union.<\/p>\n<p>\tHowever, EU is today facing crisis on several fronts and its Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy is being challenged &#8211; in Ukraine, Western Balkans and also Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>\tIn this radically changed context of the return of geopolitics to the old continent, this year\u2019s BSF academic event wishes to raise the following questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\t\tDoes the EU need to rethink its foreign policy?<\/li>\n<li>\t\tShould the EU start prioritizing geopolitical interests over the promotion of values?<\/li>\n<li>\t\tWhat is the role of European Neighbourhood Policy in a post-enlargement era?<\/li>\n<li>\t\tWhither the Common Security and Defence Policy and the idea of an EU army?<\/li>\n<li>\t\tShould the EU seek energy independence from Russia or should it utilize interdependence to seek solutions? \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\tThe organizers of the Belgrade Security Forum are particularly interested in contributions that work at the intersection of Critical Geopolitics, International Security, Foreign Policy Analysis and European Studies focusing on EU\u2019s policies towards the Western Balkans, Post-Soviet Space and the wider Middle East.<\/p>\n<div class=\"anterfile\">\t<strong>The deadline for submissions is 20 May 2015.<\/strong><strong>All submissions are required to include the applicant\u2019s CV (up to 2 pages) attached to his\/her paper proposal (up to 400 words). Submissions should be made electronically to <\/strong><strong><a href=\"mailto:jrs@fpn.bg.ac.rs\">jrs@fpn.bg.ac.rs<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>titled \u201cCall for paper proposals for BSF 2015\u201d. All successful candidates will be contacted by 20 June 2015.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/div>\n<p>\tThe organizers will financially support travel and accommodation expenses of selected participants on a needs basis. The applicants should clearly state whether they would like to be considered for the accommodation and travel grant. All accepted papers will be presented during the BSF academic event (September 30), and after the conference, all the papers will be peer-reviewed for publication in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bezbednost.org\/Bezbednost\/2206\/Journal-of-Regional-Security.shtml\">Journal of Regional Security<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\tMore information can be found in the attached document.<\/p>\n<p>\t<strong>The <\/strong><strong>Belgrade Security Forum is the biggest international security conference in Southeast Europe, each year bringing together several hundred top level policy and decision makers, NGO leaders, experts, academics and journalists. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\t\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The organizers of the Belgrade Security Forum (BSF) are pleased to invite security scholars and researchers to submit proposal papers for the academic event of the fifth Belgrade Security Forum to be held on September 30 &#8211; October 2, 2015.
