{"id":29618,"date":"2022-06-15T11:19:28","date_gmt":"2022-06-15T09:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/?post_type=najava&#038;p=29618"},"modified":"2022-06-15T11:19:28","modified_gmt":"2022-06-15T09:19:28","slug":"aukus-china-and-the-new-global-order","status":"publish","type":"najava","link":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/event\/aukus-china-and-the-new-global-order\/","title":{"rendered":"AUKUS, China, and the New Global Order"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AUKUS &#8212; a \u201csurprise\u201d security pact Australia, the UK, and the US signed in 2021 \u2013 is already changing the shape of a geopolitical space now called \u201cthe Indo-Pacific.\u201d Although not a NATO-styled collective security agreement, AUKUS nevertheless builds on a complex and long-standing infrastructure that binds these three \u201cAnglosphere\u201d states across virtually all security areas. Combining sociological and historical analysis with the best available information from the public domain, this presentation situates AUKUS in the evolution of regional and global orders, with special reference to rising Chinese power.<\/p>\n<p>The lecture on this topic will be held by <a href=\"https:\/\/srdjanvucetic.files.wordpress.com\/2022\/03\/srdjan-vucetic-cv-2022.pdf\">Sr\u0111an Vu\u010deti\u0107<\/a>, a professor at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, University of Ottawa, Canada. He is the author of The Anglosphere: A Genealogy (Stanford 2011), Greatness and Decline: National Identity and British Foreign Policy (McGill-Queen\u2019s, 2021) and over thirty scholarly articles in International Affairs, International Journal, International Organization, International Politics and some other international journals.
