It is organised in the immediate aftermath of the country\u2019s presidential elections. Montenegro is a frontrunner in the EU accession negotiations. Its chances of becoming the 28th EU member state in the foreseeable future are arguably greater than any other candidate for EU membership.<\/p>\n

Whether Montenegro will succeed depends on the EU\u2019s political capacity to absorb new members but also on Montenegro\u2019s ability to reform itself. Together with the distinguished panel of international and domestic speakers, we will discuss the likely scenarios of Montenegro\u2019s accession path, the main hurdles, and opportunities.<\/p>\n

BSC Leaders Meetings are half-day events gathering foreign and security policy communities throughout the Western Balkans. Their objective is for the Belgrade Security Conference discussions to continue throughout the year in all countries of the region.<\/p>\n

Each event is composed of a public panel with regional political leaders and back-to-back Chatham House discussions with international and regional experts on the most pressing foreign and security matters. Throughout the event, a distinguished panel of international and domestic speakers will try to assess the future of democratic reforms, regional cooperation, and the place of the Western Balkans in global politics.<\/p>\n
