{"id":17319,"date":"2013-12-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-12-03T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/disclose-accountable-for-violations-of-the-law-on-police\/"},"modified":"2020-07-20T05:47:43","modified_gmt":"2020-07-20T03:47:43","slug":"disclose-accountable-for-violations-of-the-law-on-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/disclose-accountable-for-violations-of-the-law-on-police\/","title":{"rendered":"Disclose accountable for violations of the Law on Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<strong>The Ministry of Interior must determine and inform the Serbian public whether the irregular\u00a0employment practice in the Gendarmerie is a reflection of the situation in the entire Police.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\t<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blic.rs\/Vesti\/Hronika\/424658\/Komandant-Milenko-Bozovic-Oduzeo--sam-oruzje-od-23--zandarma\">Data presented in the media<\/a> by the Gendarmerie commander Milenko Bozovic suggest that the Ministry of the Interior violated the Law on Police by not performing security check of candidates for employment in this elite unit, which is a necessary step\u00a0defind by Article 110 of \u00a0the Law.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe cause of this omission\u00a0is under developed system of supervision and control of employment in the Ministry of the Interior.<\/p>\n<p>\tAn additional problem lies in fact that, according to the Law on Police, open call for vacancies is not required for admission of police officers (Article 112).
