{"id":20741,"date":"2012-03-05T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-03-04T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/ccmr-and-racviac-have-signed-the-memorandum-of-understanding\/"},"modified":"2012-04-23T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2012-04-22T22:00:00","slug":"ccmr-and-racviac-have-signed-the-memorandum-of-understanding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bezbednost.org\/en\/ccmr-and-racviac-have-signed-the-memorandum-of-understanding\/","title":{"rendered":"CCMR and RACVIAC have signed the Memorandum of Understanding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\tRepresentatives of the Centre for Civil-Military Relations and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.racviac.org\">RACVIAC &#8211; Centre for Security Cooperation<\/a>, Professor Miroslav Hadzic and Ambassador Hadzimusic\u00a0have signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Friday, November 21.<\/p>\n<p>\tRACVIAC, founded in 2000 as the Regional Arms Control Verification and Implementation Assistance Centre,\u00a0was originally\u00a0a project under the Working Table III of\u00a0 Stability Pact for SEE.\u00a0Primary purpose\u00a0of RACVIAC was\u00a0to provide\u00a0arms control training, promote confidence and security building measures and broaden cooperation in the region. Later on, its emphasis was shifted to a wider range of issues, including security sector reform.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe current situation, developments and changes in the security environment in SEE, necessitated a review of RACVIAC\u2019s mission, objectives and structure, in order to respond to future security challenges. The new name of the Regional Arms Control Verification and Implementation Assistance Centre from October 2007 is\u00a0\u00a0<b>RACVIAC &#8211; Centre for Security Cooperation.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\tBefore the Memorandum was signed,\u00a0current and future\u00a0activities of the Centre were presented to the guests.
