\tExperience of cooperation with relevant social actors and the importance of connecting and networking were the topics of the 24th Belgrade Ignite, which took place on 16 December 2013 in Mikser House.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\tSpeaking on the topic \u201eConnect yourself”\u00a0BCSP Communications Officer Radomir Cvetkovic<\/a>\u00a0explained why he decided to join the BCSP through a story about decisions, feelings and responsibilities.<\/p>\n

\t\u201eAfter living and\u00a0working in the USA I came back to Serbia and started working in one daily newspaper, first as a journalist of the city column and then political. I made \u200b\u200bmany contacts and had direct insight on how the institutions operate\u00a0at all levels. I soon realized that I want to contribute to the improvement of the security of citizens and to help enhance influence civil society has in decision-making process. Working with BCSP researcher tema, we raised more media attention to security sector reform and opened space for discussion on citizens perception of police, army and security services”, said BCSP Communications Officer.<\/div>\n

\tin front of more than 100 guests at the event, Cvetkovic presented the BCSP networking activities\u00a0through a story about public relations and gathering around the values.<\/p>\n

\t\u201eBCSP is an organization that brings together people around common values. This year we managed to bring together CSOs from all over Serbia in the A-COP group with the aim to fight corruption in the police. We also initiated the coalition \u201eprEUgovor” which monitors the progress of Serbia in the chapters 23 and 24\u00a0of EU negotiations, and we co-organized the third Belgrade Security Forum, where we brought global topics to the Balkans, and\u00a0put\u00a0regional issues in a wider context”, said Cvetkovic.<\/div>\n

\tNumerous guests of the Ignite had the opportunity to learn more about activities of 9 civil society organizations in Serbia involved in the \u201eCivil Society Forward\u201c program<\/a> funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)<\/a>. The task to motivate to action, beside the BCSP, had the representatives of Trag Foundation, the Open Club Nis, Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac, Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability – CRTA, Share Defense, Smart Collective, the National Coalition for Decentralization, Initiative of Zajecar and the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC)\u200b\u200b.<\/p>\n

\t24th Belgrade Ignite is organized by Serbia on the move<\/a> and the Institute for Sustainable Communities<\/a>. As an event, Ignite was first held in Seattle on 2006 and the first Ignite in Belgrade was held in October 2009. This fast and dynamic presentation of ideas in informal environment is organizing in more than 100 cities around the world, in order to encourage young people to progress in public appearance, presenting and implementing their ideas. Presentations last five minutes, every presentation has 20 slides that automatically change on 15 seconds and the presenter has no control over changing slides.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
