Interns had the opportunity to learn about the concept and different models of advocacy, as well as the benefits of civil society participation in decision-making and the process of designing and implementing public policies.<\/p>\n
In the second part of the workshop, the interns talked to the lecturer about the specific products they designed in the previous period and potential platforms and ways of advocacy. Also, through concrete examples from BCSP\u2019s experience, the lecturer explained to the participants how advocacy looks like in practice and referred to the specifics of advocating policies in the field of security.<\/p>\n
The workshop was the last in a series of trainings that interns have undergone since September 2020. The workshops were designed to cover all stages of research, from identifying a problem and formulating a research question, through communication tricks, to advocating for public policies.<\/p>\n
“Through this workshop, interns gained theoretical knowledge and received practical advice about advocacy and various platforms and tips that can be used for advocacy in the field of security in Serbia and broader. With this workshop, the interns got a complete picture and found out what they can do after the research was conducted in order to ensure that their recommendations reach the right address”, said Marija Ignjatijevi\u0107, coordinator of the BCSP internship program.<\/p>\n
