The Integrity Network<\/strong> unites courageous and accomplished professionals to support their fight against systemic institutional state capture, amplify their voices and inspire others to follow their example. The Network will regularly monitor and report cases in which local institutions act in the interests of authorities rather than citizens, explain these processes, and highlight abuses. It will serve as a space of solidarity for people of integrity across Serbia – offering support to those who have become targets of the powerful due to their courage, and protecting those exposed to pressure and systemic violence because of their civic engagement.<\/p>\n

The Network builds on BCSP\u2019s long-standing work on the issue of state capture, particularly in the security sector, and aims to highlight local stories of resistance that often remain invisible. Its members will, through jointly agreed activities, work to raise public awareness, support those under pressure, and ensure their voices are heard beyond Serbia\u2019s borders.<\/p>\n

The first in a series of events under the Integrity Network brought together participants from different parts of Serbia: Natalija Jovanovi\u0107, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy in Ni\u0161; Mirjana \u0110ur\u0111evi\u0107 from the \u201cNe dam Nu Dau\u201d initiative in Majdanpek; Verica Marin\u010di\u0107, editor of the IN Media portal in In\u0111ija; and Predrag Vo\u0161tini\u0107 from the Lokalni Front in Kraljevo. They shared their experiences of the pressures and challenges they face in defending the public interest and professional integrity.<\/p>\n

With the launch of the Integrity Network, BCSP seeks to increase visibility and solidarity among local initiatives and contribute to a better understanding of the state of democracy and institutions in Serbia.<\/p>\n
