The project focused on concepts of national security and how it is understood, both in general public and by political elites; how these understandings are reproduced in Serbian political discourse; and how and to what extent these translate into actual foreign and security polices of Serbia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

To this end, BCSP staff designed public opinion polls, as well as conducted interviews and analysis. NUPI contributed with scientific expertise and continued to host guest researchers from BCSP. NUPI also offered courses for students of security studies in Belgrade and travel grants, helping them present their findings at international conferences. This project provided assistance to the BCSP to be explicit on research deliverables, in order to counteract development aid dependency and strengthen the sustainability of the BCSP.<\/p>\n
