The handbook “National and global security”, which was published by the Centre for Civil-Military Relations, with support of the Open Society Fund, presents the collection of the best papers written by the first generation of the students at the Specialist Studies Course of National and Global Security. This Studies Course were organised and\u00a0realized during 2004 and 2005, by Faculty of Political Sciences and the Centre for Civil-Military Relations, supported by the Defence Ministry of Great Britain, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Belgrade and the Open Society Fund, Belgrade.<\/p>\n
The publication of the best papers, selected by Professors Miroslav Had\u017ei\u0107, Dragan Simi\u0107 and Bogoljub Milosavljevi\u0107, offers the possibility for public estimation of the results achieved by the students and their mentors. The different topics from the field of national and global security are elaborated in this handbook, such as: “New global terrorism” (author Branislav Popovi\u0107), “Strategic answer of USA and EU on terrorism” (author Nata\u0161a Dragojlovi\u0107-\u0106iri\u0107), “The common foreign and security policy of EU” (author Dra\u017een Maravi\u0107), as well as “NATO Parliamentary Assembly” (author Dragana Djura\u0161inovi\u0107). The topics referring to the Serbian police <\/b>are particularly elaborated in following essays: “Territorial principle in organization of the Serbian police” (author Milan Nikoli\u0107) and “Psychological-counseling service in police” (author Zoran Krsti\u0107). Zorana Atanasovi\u0107 wrote about the connection between political orientation and citizens\u2019 views on military reform. Svetlana Stojan\u010di\u0107 discussed the topic “Communication in crisis situation – case study SCG”. “NATO model of crisis management”<\/b> was presented by Milo\u0161 Miri\u0107. The essay written by Vojin Milojevi\u0107 presents “US national security strategy after September 11 2001”.<\/p>\n
“Although the writers are beginners, we are convinced that the readers will find enough instigative thoughts and valid interpretations of some of the basic security topics in this book. The purpose of this collection of papers is, above all, to inspire the new specialists to pursue their research adventure. We believe this collection of papers will stimulate the students of the second generation, and additionally oblige their mentors”, pointed out Professor Miroslav Had\u017ei\u0107, Head of the Studies.<\/p>\n
The Specialist Studies Course of National and Global Security is a postgraduate course offered to graduate politicologists as well as graduates of related faculties (Law, Economy, Philosophy, Civil Defence) and academies (Police, Military). The major focus of the course is security sector in SCG, and from this standpoint, the security consequences of the changes in global, Euro-Atlantic and the regional environment will be explored. Main goal of the Studies is to educate students for competent participation in the security sector reform of SCG as well as in the process of SCG inclusion into the Euro-Atlantic community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
