Belgrade Centre for Security Policy is organizing a panel “Deprived Security” that will be held on Wednesday, December 24, at 2p.m, in Centre for Cultural Decontamination (Bircaninova 21).

The occasion for this discussion about security of Serbian citizens and the conditions in the security sector is publishing of “Deprived security”, book whose author is Dr. Miroslav Hadzic, president of BCSP Executive Board.

The discussion will be held in Serbian language. Translation will NOT be provided.

These questions will be address at the event:

  • How safe are citizens of Serbia? Do state institutions deny security to its citizens?
  • Is the political leadership necessary for security sector reform? Where should be the limits of actions of politicians, and where are their incentives necessary?
  • Is security sector reform possible without any clear strategic orientation? What does Serbian neutrality mean? What would be the criteria of success for reforms?

  • Momir Stojanovic, the Chairperson of the Security Services Control Committee, National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia
  • Bogoljub Milosavljevic, Professor at Law Faculty, Union University
