The Future of the Southeastern European Integration: Reclaiming the Fundamentals
BCSP invites you to the event on the EU integration strategy, focusing on the impact of the strategy in Southeastern Europe and discussion on how to move forward with the EU integration agenda. The event will take place on May 16 at 15:00 in Hague (Wijnhaven building, room 306, Turfmarkt 99) and online on Zoom.
The year 2022 brought many political, legal, and security changes to Europe, such as the rise of polarization, far right, as well as the war in Ukraine. The discussion on the EU integration policy in the South-Eastern Europe (SEE) region is therefore crucial given the recent events. During the event, we will question the current approach while providing a fresh perspective on the EU’s integration policy. In addition, one of the topics of the event will be Dutch foreign and security policy, since the Netherlands has rejected the EU’s expansion after Bulgaria and Romania joined the Union. Afterwards, a discussion will be opened on the question how to move forward with the EU integration agenda.
