In order to support greater civil society participation in the process of monitoring and implementing the National Action Plan for implementation of UNSCR 1325 in Serbia Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP) and the Geneva Center for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) are gethering relevant actors from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Europe to discuss the best practices and models.
The roundtable “The involvement of civil society organizations in the monitoring and implementation of NAP 1325: practices and models” will take place on Tuesday, 26 February 2013 starting at 10 am in the premises of the BCSP (Djure Jaksica 6, 2nd floor).
Firstly, main findings of the BCSP’s research on existing models for cooperation between CSOs and government institutions on implementation and monitoring the implementation of NAP 1325 will be presented.
Director of the Office for Cooperation with Civil Society Ivana Cirkovic will give an overview of activities for cooperation between CSOs and her Office in Serbia. The Executive Director of ’Women to Women’, CSO from Sarajevo which has been actively involved in promoting the UNSCR 1325 in last ten years in Bosnia and Herzegovina will talk about her experiences in adoption and implementation of the Action Plan and work in the Committee for Monitoring the AP 1325, the main governmental body for the implementation of this document.
Carmela Buhler, Anti-Trafficking/Gender-Advisor in the Department for Human Security of the Swiss MFA will talk about developed models and practices for civil society involvement in implementation, monitoring and evaluation of NAP 1325.
