Draft Law on Military Security Agency and Military Intelligence Agency to be discussed
Invitation to a CCMR round table
Ombudsman of the Republic of Serbia together with the Centre for Civil-Military Relations will on Friday, July 3, 2009, organise the round table on the Draft Law on Military Security Agency and Military Intelligence Agency. Round table is to take place in the Palace of Serbia, and will start at 11 a.m.
The motivation for organising the round table has its origin in the need to further promote expert discussion on establishing the legal framework for Serbia's security sector. It is therefore organisers' intention to initiate the debate on the basic challenges that concerned actors face when defining the authorities and competences of military security services. The challenges of exerting oversight over military security agencies should constitute one of the important issues in ensuing discussion, especially in relation to the protection of human rights.
