Balkan Security Platform (BSP)
Balkan Security Platform (BSP) is a civil society network from the Western Balkans Six specializing in security issues. Members of BSP work together towards construction of a peaceful and democratic environment in the region and Europe through greater involvement of civil society and citizens in developing and influencing security policies.
Balkan Security Platform is the result of the cooperation that started in 2009 as a Belgrade Centre for Security Policy initiative for researching the security sector reform processes in the region. Cooperation continued with the POINTPULSE project with the aim to monitor the state of police integrity in law enforcement agencies and advocate for policy changes for tackling the police corruption. From 2020, the members of BSP are working on bridging the gaps between the societal needs to tackle organized crime, commitments made by the governments, and the lackluster performance of their policies on the ground within Western Balkans Organized Crime Radar.
Current partners of the BSP have been working together for almost a decade. They are:
- Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP) – Serbia, network coordinator,
- Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) – Albania,
- Centre for Security Studies (CSS) – Bosnia and Herzegovina,
- Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) – Kosovo,
- Institute Alternative (IA) – Montenegro,
- Eurothink – Centre for European Strategies – North Macedonia.
