Regional network of civil society organizations POINTPULSE has, in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to Serbia, on 10 of December in Belgrade, organized a conference "Promoting police integrity in Western Balkans", which goal was to gather the relevant stakeholders dealing with the police reform within the region.

Corruption is the second biggest problem on the Western Balkans, right after the unemployment, and citizens are especially affected by the corruption within police force, the institution which should conduct its eradication the most, according to the survey of public opinion on police integrity.

Engagement in dialogue between Belgrade, Pristina and Tirana significantly improves cooperation, but a shared vision of the common future is needed in order to improve the lives of the citizens of all three communities - this was conclusion of the ninth and final meeting of the Security Research Forum.

Reports on progress of Serbia in the area of justice, freedom and security will be semiannually presented to citizens. These documents will be available at Ministry of Interior website, and consultations with civil society organizations interested in this process will be organized on this occasion.

In Serbia, citizens are not in the center of government’s interest anymore, and security became "state-centered", it was emphasized at the publication of „Deprived security", whose author is Miroslav Hadžić, president of BCSP Executive Board.

Police corruption at the Serbian Border Police is assessed in the new analysis of the BCSP researcher Sasa Djordjevic. At the beginning of analysis, the attitudes of citizens and police on corruption in the border police are represented, and after, the risks and forms of corruption.

Efficient fight against corruption in the police requires an improvement in human resource management, strengthening the sector of internal control, police depolitization, but also encouragement for both citizens and police officers to report cases of corruption, it was concluded at panel discussions held on April 28th and 30th, in Majdanpek, Zrenjanin, and Becej.

KSF has the highest ranking in comparison to other security forces in terms of positive perceptions of citizens in Kosovo, and the main reason is that KSF acts in close proximity to citizens during relief efforts, said guest researcher Shpend Kursani during the presentation held in BCSP library.
