The work of local safety councils should not be regulated by law because the existing framework provides enough space for their foundation, it was pointed out during the discussion "Local safety in Serbia: obstacles and opportunities".

The book combines the papers prepared by the researchers and associates within a project on the "Protection of Human Rights in the Army and the Police of the FR of Yugoslavia". The whole project, including the publishing effort, was implemented with the support of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, London and Freedom House, Budapest.

Collection of Essays "Business and Security" comprises papers submitted to the conference of the same name, organized by the Centre on November 6 and 7, 2008 in the National Assembly. The organization of the conference was made possible with the support of the Governments of Norway and Hungary, as well as Jagello 2000 foundation from the Czech Republic.
