The Network of civil society organisations - Women, Peace and Security in the Republic of Serbia gathers 22 civil society organizations, academia and individuals, who are interested in implementation UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace and Security in Serbia. BCSP is the coordinator of this network.

Strengthening of the civil society networks, with the view to contribute to the police reform process in the framework of the accession negotiations of Serbia and the EU under the Chapter 24, is the main goal of the project that is being implemented by Belgrade Centre for Security Policy and supported by the OSCE Mission in Serbia

During the last couple of decades, civil society organisations have became actors in the security sector. Good governance of the security sector is not only effective exercise of the economic, political and administrative competences of government, but also requires the involvement of non-statutory actors in the control and oversight of state institutions.

The Belgrade Centre for Security Policy team shared key challenges and lessons learned during democratic transition in Serbia and its substantial experience in advocating for security sector reform with more than ten Egyptian civil society organisations from 10-13 May.
