How to integrate a gender perspective in programs, policies, and budget of the Ministry of Interior (MoI), and then monitor progress in achieving gender equality in the police force, were the main topics of the seminar ’’Gender equality and gender-sensitive indicators in the police; which was held from 15th to 17th of October at Hotel Relax in Kovačica.

Familiarization with the importance of gender perspectives for strategic planning, and gaining concrete skills for the application of gender analysis in the reporting of results were the main themes of the seminar for analysts of the Ministry of Interior, held from March 12th to 14th, 2014 in the hotel Relax in Kovacica.

BCSP Researcher Maja Bjelos is co-author of the independent report on achievements in the implementation of UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace and Security in Serbia in 2014. Analysis of the results was based on 11 indicators, with a focus on the assessment of women's participation, prevention and protection from violence and the promotion of gender perspective. The authors have offered specific recommendations to institutions, the United Nations and civil society organizations.

How to introduce a gender perspective into the strategic planning and analysis in the police and what are the specific tools for gender analysis, were some of the questions that were answered at the seminar for analysts and planners in the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia (MoI).

Together with its partner organizations the BCSP will present results of "People’s Peacemaking Perspective" project to the European Parliament, DG Enlargement and European External Action Service. The results will be also presented to the representatives of think-tank organizations in Brussels.

In this case study BCSP Researcher Zorana Brozovic has explored people’s perspective on territorial and boundary issues in South Serbia, near administrative boundary with Kosovo and Metohija. Data for this research were collected in the town of Bujanovac.
