William Hammer, new BCSP foreign intern

During June and July William Hammer, Candidate for Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Marist college, will be part of BCSP team as a foreign intern.

“I am very interested field of security studies and post-conflict transformation. For this past semester, I have been studying Peace and Conflict studies in the Serbia, Kosovo, and Bosnia and Herzegovina through the School of International Training based in Belgrade. My studies here have greatly expanded my interest in the field of Peace and Conflict Studies, and has complimented my academic focus in Political Science and International relations. I would be very interested in continuing my research on the impact that religious extremism has on security in the Balkans. I think that BCSP would be an excellent organization in which I could branch out my research further”, said Hammer.

BCSP foreign intern is a Candidate for Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Marist college in New York. He is also part of Marist Media Department. For the last month, Hammer has been living in Prishtina, conducting an independent study on the role of Islam in political and social identity in Kosovo, as well as the effects and threat of religious radicalism in the region.

Throughout last semester Hammer has developed proficient skills in independent research and data analysis. Furthermore, he has been studying Serbian and Croatian for the last several months.
