Lecture on the Trustworthy Person mechanism
BCSP reseacher Maja Bjelos will hold lecture on the „Trustworthy person" mechanism to the members of the analytical groups of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, Security-Information Agency, Customs, and the Directorate for Execution of Sanctions on September 14th.
The lecture will be held during the three-day training seminar for the members of the analytical groups, organised by the Customs Administration, in cooperation with Ministry of Defence and UN Women.
Introduction of a person who mediates, advises and takes measures to address the specific issues of gender equality and discrimination is planned at the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, Security-Information Agency, the Customs Administration and Directoratefor Execution of Sanctions.
Given that this mechanism has not “come to life” in our system of security and defense, as “person of trust” has not yet been named in the mentioned institutions, except for the BIA, lecture will be aimed to clarify the importance of the this mechanism and to present the similarities and differences with other mechanisms for employees protection from discrimination and harassments.
The introduction of Trustworthy person mechanisms, intended for achieving gender equality in the security sector, is provided by the National Action Plan for the implementation of Resolution 1325 in Serbia.
