BCSP Director and Board Member Edited a Book on Security Community in Western Balkans

Investigating the causes and mechanisms driving peaceful transformation in the Balkans, the book edited by BCSP Director Sonja Stojanovic Gajic, and BCSP Board Member and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences Filip Ejdus examines developments in the region and contributes to discussions on security community building. Focusing on how different professional communities work together in the creation of regional peace and security, it sheds new light on how diplomats, policemen, soldiers and others brought about the transformation from conflict to peace through their everyday practices.

Besides editing the book, Stojanovic Gajic authored the chapter “Security Communities of Practice between National and Regional Fields“, while Ejdus wrote the chapters „Professional Practices of Security Community Building: Theoretical Introduction“ and „Security Communities of Practice between National and Regional Fields“.

The publisher is Routlege. The book is available to order here, and it will be available at the BCSP library.

“Conducted collaboratively by a research community based within the region, this volume will be highly relevant to scholars and researchers studying the Balkans, regional security, security communities and policymakers,” states the publishers' website.

The book is published as a part of the project “Security Transitions in Western Balkans: from Conflict Zone to Security Community” realized through collaboration of BCSP and NUPI, supported by the Research Council of Norway
