What is the BCSP Library

The BCSP Library is the first academic library in Serbia that specialises in security studies.

It is registered with the National Library of Serbia and its publications are searchable through the COBISS system.

The library currently houses over 2,500 titles and dozens of specialised journals from Serbia and abroad.

Who is interested in using the BCSP Library?

• Academics and students are the most interested in the library’s resources.
• Most users of the BCSP Library hail from the Belgrade Faculty of Political Sciences, followed by those from the Faculty of Security Studies, the Military Academy and the Criminalistics and Police Studies Academy.
• The resources of the BCSP Library are also of great interest to representatives of the state security sector and civil society organisations.

The BCSP Library Catalogue

The COBISS platform makes it possible to search for all of the publications housed by the BCSP Library.

COBISS is an organisational model that connects libraries into a national library information system offering:

• shared cataloguing;
• the COBIB unified bibliographic catalogue database and the local bibliographic databases of participating libraries;
• the COLIB libraries database;
• the CONOR authority database;
• a number of other functions.

The system functions on the basis of the following professional and technological foundations:

• Standardised and shared cataloguing of library materials, as well as uniform management of catalogues and bibliographies;
• Professionally trained and qualified catalogue administrators;
• Digital linking of participating libraries via communications networks.
