Popovic is particularly interested in the problem of extremism and terrorism. He is already the author of several scientific papers in the field of civil wars, rebel groups, military intervention and terrorism. He is currently working on a book about military interventions of permanent members of the UN SecurityCouncilalongside a group of authors.

“The focus of my work in BCSP will be on extremism and terrorism in Serbia and Europe, security and foreign policy of Serbia and the perception of security risks of Serrbian citizens. Research potential and BCSP’s strong connections with decision makers are what motivated me to sign up”, said Popović.

The new member of BCSP team graduated from Faculty of Political Science in Belgrade, and obtained his master's and doctoral degree from the Central European University in Budapest.

The ’The Think Tank Young Professional Development Program’, funded by Open Society Foundations, offers the possibility to think tank organizations such as the BCSP to engage young researchers originating from the region, who have recently graduated from universities in OECD countries, including the Central European University in Hungary.
