Network of National and Local Civil Society Organizations and Experts Interested in Security Issues

In September 2007, BCSP launched an initiative to bring together a Network of National and Local Civil Society Organizations and Experts Interested in Security Issues. The aim of this Network was to contribute to a more active participation of civil society in security sector reform.

The idea is for this network to become a recognizable and competent participant and pressure group in the area of security sector reform oversight. The initiative arose because only a joint effort of civil society organizations can successfully advocate for greater participation of citizens and civil society in the creation and implementation of security policy.
