Students of Criminal Justice from Sarajevo visiting the BCSP

Student group from the Faculty for Criminal Justice, Criminology and Security Studiesat the University of Sarajevo visited Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP) and closely got acquainted with think tank work on the reform of security sector in Serbia and region on March 17th 2017.

Director of the BCSP Sonja Stojanovic Gajic informed students about organization’s history and problems of scientific research of security issues on the Western Balkans.

„The most important is the trust in the research that you present. Responsible research preserves yours integrity as researcher, but also the integrity of the organization that you represent, as well as the people that you interview in the research process“, emphasized Stojanovic Gajic.

BCSP researcher Sasa Djorđevic presented to students the work of POINTPULSE network which gathers seven civil society organizations from the region, aimed at research of police integrity. Students learned more about structure and concept of researchs that are implemented within the project of the network supported by European Union.

„This year we are doing a research on the topic of improvement of relations between Ministry of Interior on one side and media and the public on the other side. Good and well-timed comunication between the police and the public is an excellent way for increasing trust of citizens in this instituion“, said Đorđević.

The students were headed by prof. Muhamed Budimlic from the University of Sarajevo. For postgraduates and students of the final year this was the last visit on a study tour during which they met numerous security, educational and research organizations from Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia.
