Monitoring and measuring progress in implementation UNSCR 1325 in Serbia was the subject of presentation held by BCSP researcher Maja Bjelos at the international conference „Enhancing the Women, Peace and Security Agenda in the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian Region" held in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 11. and 12. November 2013.

Uniting government and CSOs efforts in implementation of the UN 1325 in Western Balkans

The Regional Dialogue on Gender and Security: Uniting Governments' and CSOs’ Efforts in Implementation of the UNSCR 1325 Agenda gathered 47 representatives from state agencies, government equality bodies, ministries of defence, ministries of interior, local civil society organizations and international organizations from the Western Balkans: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Serbia.

The first Security Research Forum opened the debate on the security dilemmas in the Western Balkans

The relations between the Albanian and Serbian communities remain of key importance to the security and stability of the Balkan Region. Despite the improved relations and the engagement in the European Union integration, the relations between Belgrade, Prishtina and Tirana are still hampered by unresolved issues from the past. These are main conclusions reached at the first Security Research Forum.
