Regional network of civil society organizations POINTPULSE and the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP) invite you to the presentation of the research “Police Integrity Assessment in Serbia”, which will take place at the Media Centre (Terazije 3, Belgrade), on 13th December 2016, beginning at 11 AM.
The aim of the event is to encourage discussion on future challenges and priorities regarding police reform, with a special emphasis of the effects of application of the new Law on Police in the last ten months. Members of the Committee on Defence and Internal Affairs of the National Assembly, representatives of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor’s Office, police unions, Ombudsman’s Office, Office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, the Anti-Corruption Agency and the State Audit Institution have also been invited to the event, as well as all other actors that are interested in building police integrity in Serbia.
The following issues shall be discussed:
- What are the effects of the application of the new Law on Police?
- How did the Ministry of Interior perform in spending its budget during 2016?
- How good are Members of the National Assembly in conducting oversight over the police?
- Is the implementation of the human resources management system heading in the right direction?
- How much is internal control effective in combating police corruption?
Research findings shall be presented by:
- Sasa Djordjevic, BCSP Researcher
- Sofija Mandic, BCSP Legal Researcher
- Vladimir Erceg, BCSP Researcher
The discussion will be moderated by Jelena Zoric, journalist of regional television N1.
The discussion will be conducted in Serbian. Simultaneous translation to English will be provided.

Presentation on the same topic shall be organized simultaneously in Skopje, Sarajevo, Podgorica, Tirana and Pristine, where the research findings shall be presented by the partners on the project: Analytica, Centre for Security Studies, Institute Alternative, Institute for Democracy and Mediation, and Kosovar Centre for Security Studies.
Presentation of research findings is organized within the project “Western Balkans Pulse for Police Integrity and Trust: POINTPULSE”, supported by the European Union through the Civil Society Facility programme.
