On Saturday, May12th at 12pm, we are organizing together with the Group 484 and Belgrade Centre for Human Rights public screening (live stream) of the Tribunal 12 panel dedicated to the asylum procedure.

The panel begins at 12.30pm and ends in 2pm. Guests are welcome from 12pm.

The public screening is organized in the BCSP library, at the address Gundulicev venac 48, 1st floor.

What is Tribunal 12?

Tribunal 12 advocates changes within the European system of treatment of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants.

The event will take place on 12th May in Stockholm, in the famous cultural center Kulturhuset and at the central square (Sergels Torg), but it will be also broadcasted live across Europe, in independent cinema halls and at various public places through Internet. The event that we organize together is one of them.

Tribunal 12 is organized by Shahrazad – Stories for Life, Kulturhuset and Swedish forum for human rights.

The event itself in Stockholm will include four thematic sessions, which will deal with:

  •      Control of the borders;
  •      Asylum procedure;
  •      Undocumented migrants and
  •      Detention and deportation procedures.

Each session will feature summary of the testimony, expert testimony, data, reports and other evidence. Finally, this Tribunal 12 session will be closed with open discussion among members of the jury.

The jury will be chaired by Arne Ruth, Journalist, publicist and writer, while the other members of the jury are also internationally recognized figures in the fields of philosophy, sociology, international law, literature, art and activism (Nawal El Saadawi, Saskia Sassen, Nuruddin Farah, Sadik J. Al -Azm, Henning Mankell, Parvin Ardalan, BS Chimni).
