The lighthouse of a better Balkans – The first 25 years of the BCSP
One of the main objectives of this project is to develop CSOs’ organisational and operational capacities and contribute to strengthening the enabling environment in which CSOs operate in the Western Balkans and Turkey.
Within this project, the event will be organised on the occasion of marking 25 years of Belgrade Centre for Security Policy work and it will be providing an opportunity for BCSP to consolidate long-standing partnerships with other Western Balkans think-tanks specialized in security policy within the Balkan Security Platform.
There is a need for a joint advocacy approach of WB6 towards the EU institutions and the Member States in order to overcome the current stalemate in the EU integration of the region. While there are many regional initiatives that jointly focus on public administration reform, reconciliation or economic cooperation within the EU accession process, there is a gap in such approach when it comes to foreign and security issues. This event aims to bridge this gap through achieving following specific objectives:
- Providing a platform for joint advocacy towards EU on these important issues
- Contributing towards better regional cooperation on soft security matters.
- Increasing the resilience of WB civil society at large by consolidating partnerships between like-minded organizations
