The majority of citizens in Serbia and Albania support the continuation of the Brussels dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina even if it is not a condition for EU membership, while the most of population of Kosovo and Metohija favors the Dialogue only if it will increase the chances of EU membership. This was highlighted during the presentation of the public opinion research findings in the Media Center on 31st October 2013.

The Agreement on normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina represents a positive step in Serbian-Albanian relations. However, its implementation depends on the political will of both sides and their success in resolving internal political issues. A recent expert opinion on the causes of the accident at the ammunition factory „Prvi partizan" in Uzice established that the explosion was caused by bad gunpowder. These findings refute the findings of the previous expertise according to which human factor was the cause of the accident. Speakers at the round table held in the BCSP’s library noted that the global „Government Defence Anti-Corruption Index" stressed numerous risks from corruption were identified in Serbia’s defence system, with procurement being one of the principal problem areas, but Defence Ministry representative stated objections to TI UK’s methodology, and offered some advice for further research.

In the year of 2012 BCSP celebrated its 15th anniversary and continued with the development of innovative research, educational materials and programmes, as well as the new communication and advocacy tools and tactics.

The relations between the Albanian and Serbian communities remain of key importance to the security and stability of the Balkan Region. Despite the improved relations and the engagement in the European Union integration, the relations between Belgrade, Prishtina and Tirana are still hampered by unresolved issues from the past.
