Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP) is organizing a conference: “Public Perception of Serbia's Foreign Policy”, to present latest survey results.

The event will be held in the Media Center (Belgrade, Terazije 3, second floor, Main Hall) on Wednesday, 8 March 2017, starting at 10 am.

The survey was conducted during January on a representative sample of 1,403 inhabitants of Serbia, without Kosovo.

The presentation, among other things, will analyze answers to the following questions:

  • How do citizens assess the impact of the US, EU, Germany, Russia and China on Serbia's foreign policy?
  • How would citizens vote if there were a referendum on the accession of our country into the EU? NATO? Eurasian Union under the leadership of Russia?
  • What would be the impact on the security, political stability, standing in the world, foreign investment influx and employment if Serbia joins the EU? NATO? Alliance with Russia?
  • How do the leading national media report on the EU, Russia and the United States?

The speakers at the event will include:

  • Sonja Stojanovic Gajic, BCSP Director
  • Milos Popovic, BCSP Researcher
  • Tamara Skrozza, journalist of weekly newspaper “Vreme”

This event features the second part of the public opinion polls, while another presentation on trust in state institutions will be published in the following period.

During the conference will be held the presentation of analysis of the research team of the Centre for Research, Transparency and Accountability (CRTA) on the subject of media coverage of domestic politics of EU, Russia and the United States, their relations with other countries, their mutual relations, as well as their impact on Serbia, the region and the world. The analysis included eight daily newspapers with national coverage, four weekly editions, the six most visited websites and prime time news programs on RTS, Pink and N1.

The working language of the conference is Serbian, and simultaneous translation into English will be provided.

Due to the limited number of seats, please RSVP by Tuesday, 7 March 2017, by email to the address office@bezbednost.org or telephone at 011 226 3287.

The conference is a part of the project entitled “Renewed and revised co-operation between the BCSP, regional partners and the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs”, funded by Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
