The Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and the Centre for Civil Military Relations – Belgrade (CCMR) have joined their forces in 2007 and 2008 in order to gather 13 young and prospective professionals from South Eastern Europe, providing them with an opportunity to engage in a debate concerning contemporary issues of global and regional security.

Therefore, a part of “The Young Faces Network Project”first of two workshops was organised in Geneva in October 2007. The second one is scheduled to take place in Belgrade, from February 13 to 15, and it will be primarily focused on the topics of:

  • Mapping and monitoring the security sector in each of the participating countries – so that common challenges and opportunities to evaluate and measure progress in the security sector governance can be noted,
  • Security sector reform (SSR) – the commonalities and differences in the development of SSR and the ways to foster regional security cooperation in the region of South-Eastern Europe.

The Agenda of the “Young Faces” second workshop can be found in the attached PDF file.
