Serbia and USA – together we are safer

Belgrade Centre for Security Policy and the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Belgrade, invite you to an online discussion on the most important issues regarding defence and security cooperation between Serbia and United States of America, which will be held on March 10 at 12 PM.

Cyber Tesla, Humvee vehicles, Platinum Wolf and Lion, MILES laser system, Vigilant Wolf… These are just some of the examples of military exercises and donations, which illustrate intensive defense cooperation between Serbia and USA. During the previous ten years, representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces participated in over 70 military exercises organized by the United States, and USA has been one of the largest donors of Serbian defence system for years.

What are the main forms of defense cooperation between Serbia and the United States? What is the importance of “South” Base? What does the fifteen-year partnership of the Serbian Armed Forces with Ohio National Guard entail? What are the practical benefits for the Serbian defense system? How do the citizens of the two countries benefit from this cooperation?

The answers to these and many other questions will be offered by:

  • Lt Col Ivan Miljević, Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, International Military Cooperation Department
  • Lt Col Alexandro Pedraza, US Embassy in Serbia, Office for Defense Cooperation
  • Marija Ignjatijević, BCSP researcher
  • Moderator: Goran Janićević, editor of the show “Dozvolite”
