The lighthouse of a better Balkans – The first 25 years of the BCSP

The celebration of the organisation’s twenty-fifth anniversary will bring together the diplomatic corps, civil society from the region, the media and global experts with whom we have many years of successful cooperation. This will be the occasion to discuss the most urgent topics related to our region and its broader geopolitical context with some of the most knowledgeable and influential regional and European experts.

The first panel, “How to Make the Balkans Better“, will cover the issues such as the Western Balkans in the new geopolitical landscape; how to bring the region back on the path of democratisation and improved bilateral relations; who are the agents of change who can lead the way forward; and what does future hold for the EU. The second panel, “Moving Western Balkans towards European Foreign and Security Policy“, is dedicated to the biggest crisis since World War II on European soil – Russia’s aggression on Ukraine. We will discuss with renowned international opinion-makers about Western and Western Balkan response to the Russian aggression in Ukraine; the foreign and security conditionality in the EU accession process; the ramifications of the war and sanctions on the European democratic resilience, energy supply and the similar.

The conference will also be the occasion to present the BCSP International Advisory Committee.
