BCSP again on the list of top think tanks in the world in three categories

For the fifth consecutive year, BCSP was voted as one of the best think tanks in Central and Eastern Europe, and among the best in the world on the research topics of defense and national security, and foreign policy and international relations.

In the 2016 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP) is one of the best ranked think tanks in the Western Balkans, and among best in the world covering defense, national security, foreign policy and international relations.

A small number of Think Tanks per category get to be nominated each year, which makes the achievement of BCSP even more significant.

BCSP is ranked in three categories:

  • 15th on the list of Top Think Tanks in Central and Eastern Europe
  • 56th on the list of Top Think Tanks by Area of Research Defense and National Security
  • 47th on the list of Top Think Tanks by Area of Research Foreign Policy and International Affairs

The 2016 Global Go-To-Think Tank Index Report, produced annually by the University of Pennsylvania (USA), ranks 6,846 organizations globally, through an international survey of more than 4,750 policymakers, journalists, public and private donors and functional and regional area specialists. The present report is the tenth and includes more than 30 criteria for the evaluation of think tanks, classifying them by region, by areas of research and by special achievement.

Global Go-To-Think Tank Index seeks to understand the state of think tanks in the world, as well as to promote their evaluation and improvement. The 2016 Report is launched from Washington, D.C. and simultaneously in more than 70 cities around the world.

    Civil society organisations express deep concern over the direction of the investigative actions concerning the incident of 15 March 2025, which have recently been undertaken by the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade. The current conduct of this Prosecutor’s Office is the exact opposite of the thorough and impartial investigation that such a grave case requires.     The Civil Committee for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders and Whistleblowers strongly condemns the threats directed at journalist Vuk Cvijić, which occurred on December 17 and were allegedly triggered by an article he wrote for the weekly Radar.
