BCSP Director launches the 1325 Scorecard for militaries of NATO and Partnership for Peace countries

BCSP Director Sonja Stojanovic Gajic will present in NATO Headquarters the final product of two-year research project undertaken by the Woman in International Security and the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy.

Indicators for the implementation of UNSCR 1325 Women, Peace & Security will be the main topic of roundtable discussion organized by NATO Emerging Security Challenges Division on 29 October, 2015 in Brussels.

October marks the 15th anniversary of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 which recognizes the disproportionate impact that war and conflicts have on women and children, and highlights the fact that women have been historically left out of peace processes and stabilization efforts.

At an event to celebrate the anniversary the presentation of project “The 1325 Scorecard”  supported by the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme will take place.

BCSP Director Sonja Stojanovic Gajic will present the unique features of NATO 1325 scorecard and how it could be used both as a methodology to assess and evaluate and a tool that may helps states put into place strategies, policies and practices that mainstreams gender throughout military operations.

Besides BCSP Director, speaker at the event will include H.E. Miomir Udovicki, Ambassador of Serbia to NATO, Dr Chantal de Jonge Oudraat, President of WIIS Global and Senior Advisor to the Center for Gender and Peace-building of the U.S. Institute of Peace and many other world-renowned experts in this topic.
