Security Community Building – academic pre-event of the second Belgrade Security Forum
Keynote speakers at the academic pre-event organized within the second Belgrade Security Forum will be securitisation theory expert Thierry Balzacq, Université de Louvain and Sciences Po Paris, and EU Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy expert Dimitar Bechev, Head of Sofia Office European Council on Foreign Relations.
“Security Community Building: Bridging the Theoretical-policy Divide” is the academic pre-event accompanying the second Belgrade Security Forum, which takes place on September 20-22 in the Hyatt Regency Belgrade Hotel.
Academic pre-event features more than ten experts from Europe, USA, Canada, but also from the Western Balkans.
The discussions on the academic event are divided into three panels:
- Security Community in the Western Balkans: past, present, future
- Professional Practices of Security Community Building in the Western Balkans
- Communities of Security Practices in the Age of Uncertainty
Particularly interesting should be the discussion on professional practices of security community building that will include a group of researchers, members of the Western Balkans Security Think Tanks Consortium. They are all involved in the ongoing project on security cooperation of the countries of the region.
