The Network of civil society organisations – Women, Peace and Security in the Republic of Serbia
The Network of civil society organisations - Women, Peace and Security in the Republic of Serbia gathers 22 civil society organizations, academia and individuals, who are interested in implementation UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace and Security in Serbia. BCSP is the coordinator of this network.
Members of the Network are gathered around a shared vision of safe citizens in a secure and democratic society.
Network members see Serbia as a state in which is achieved a high quality of daily life, based on the principles of the rule of law, protection of human and minority rights, equal access to justice, zero tolerance towards violence, freedom from fear and the inclusion of all members of the community in decision-making, without discrimination.
The core values that members of the Network share are equal treatment, solidarity, non-violence and achieving human security.
The aim of the Network is to develop policy recommendations, concerning improvement of safety of women and girls, directed to all public authorities responsible for the implementation of UNSC Resolution 1325 in Serbia at the national and local levels, as well as international forums.
In order to achieve this objective network will in particular:
- Inform the public about relevant topics in the field of women, peace and security;
- Monitor the implementation of the NAP 1325 and report on its achevements;
- Strengthen the capacity of the Network to achieve its mission, vision and goals;
- Cooperate with public authorities at the national level and strengthen the impact of the Network on the adoption and / or amendment of policies and laws in the area of women, peace and security at the national level;
- Cooperate with public authorities and influence the policy in the area of women, peace and security at the provincial and local levels;
- Develop programmes that promote Resolution 1325 and NAP on Women, Peace and Security;
- Strengthen local security and participation of women in local initiatives for safety, especially the Municipal Safety Councils.
Members of the Network through the implementation of Resolution 1325 in Serbia in particular aim to contribute to the safety of women from multiple marginalized groups.
Members of the network are: Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (Belgrade), Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence (Belgrade), Ethnic Forum (Svrljig), Center for Girls (Nis), Center for Suppoort of Women (Kikinda), Center for Development of Civil Resources (Nis), Public Policy Research Centre (Belgrade), Women for Peace Organisation (Leskovac), Women of South (Pirot), Women Space (Nis), Zrenjanin Educational Centre (Zrenjanin), Impuls (Tutin), Info Centre (Brus), NGO Women’s Alternative (Sombor), Independent Women’s Centre (Dimirovgrad), Roma Women’s Center BIBIJA (Belgrade), Udruženje SOS Ženski centar (Novi Sad), SOS for Women and Children Vlasotince (Vlasotince), Association of Women – Sandglass (Krusevac), Association of Roma Novi Becej (Novi Becej), Uzice Center for Human Rights and Democracy (Uzice), UrbanIN (Novi Pazar), Organisation of Roma Women “Osvit” (Nis).

Security institutions play a major role in the capture of the state and the collapse of democracy in Serbia, as well as in preserving the situation the way it is.
