Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP) was again included into the list of the best Think Tanks in Central and Eastern Europe, and also in the world among all those who deal with areas of defense and national security, and foreign policy and international relations.

BCSP activities in 2013 were highlighted by contributions to the systematic fight against corruption within police, military and security services, advancement of gender equality in security sector, opening of the dialogue on future of Serbian-Albanian relations and beginning of the independent monitoring of Serbia’s progress in chapters 23 and 24 of the EU negotiating process.

Capacity of Serbia to participate in peacekeeping missions, gender equality in the security sector, as well as writing for Website and preparing for public appearance were the topics of the third seminar for the fourteenth generation of interns held on 16 December in the BCSP library.

Reasons for joining a civil society organisation, importance of building relationships and the effects of networking were the topics of a presentation held by BCSP Communications Officer Radomir Cvetkovic at the 24th Belgrade Ignite.

New member of BCSP policy research team Dusan Radivojevic will be mostly engaged in the area of accountability and integrity in security sector.

Monitoring and measuring progress in implementation UNSCR 1325 in Serbia was the subject of presentation held by BCSP researcher Maja Bjelos at the international conference „Enhancing the Women, Peace and Security Agenda in the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian Region" held in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 11. and 12. November 2013.

Guest researcher Esra Dogan, PHD candidate in Panteion University in Athens, will be a part of the BCSP team from September to November 2013.

Basic research techniques, the process of public opinion researches and the problem of corruption in police were the topics of the second seminar for the fourteenth generation of the BCSP interns.

Searching through online databases, possibilities for appearance of corruption in the privatization process, advanced internet searches were some of the topics during the two-day training for researchers held in the library of the BCSP.
